从理论上阐述新冠肺炎疫情对牙买加特殊需要学生和体育教师的影响

有特殊需要的学生是我们社会中最弱势的群体之一。有特殊需要的学生需要不同的治疗和关注来发挥他们的长处并理解这个世界。新冠肺炎疫情打乱了这些学生在面对面学习时通常能得到的常规和特别关注。面授学校最令人期待的一个方面是参与体育和运动,为有特殊需要的学生提供身体、社会和心理上的好处。然而,疫情迫使网上教学,改变了体育和运动的状态。此外,像第三世界国家一样,牙买加没有所需的技术资源以充分方便体育特殊需要的学生。因此,本研究试图从教师的角度调查在新冠肺炎疫情期间,特殊需要学生和教师在进行网上教学时所面临的挑战。该研究采用定性方法,同时利用多案例研究设计,使用有目的的抽样方法在牙买加选择四所(11所)最著名的公立特殊教育学校。结果显示,学生参与体育活动受到显著影响。在某些情况下,自疫情开始以来,多达80%的学生缺席体育课。这些影响是双重的,包括身体、心理、社会、环境和社会问题。这项研究的结果引起了对有特殊需要的学生身体健康的严重关切,牙买加正在努力减少身体不活动率和慢性生活方式疾病。由于久坐不动的生活方式,有特殊需要的学生患继发性残疾的风险非常令人担忧。缺乏体育活动也意味着社交水平较低,心理问题增多,这些问题可能会随着新冠肺炎严格的封锁措施、互联网连接问题和设备缺乏而恶化。
